What age did you stop naps?

My DD is 22 months and it's now really difficult to get her to have a day time nap even though she's a bit whingy. Just laid with her for 45 mins and she dozed but thats it. I fear she's beginning to not have a nap anymore. I don't want tips to make her nap as i don't do routines for babies (not my style) but i was wondering what age others gabe up their daytime nap?

Both mine gave theirs up at 18months, unless we were out in the car during the afternoon when they might drop off. Both would wake up as soon as the car stopped though.

My friends DD hasn't napped since she was 2. My DS, 2.5, still naps for an hour about 50% of the time. Just depends on what he's been doing, so I just go with it. Have to wake him after an hour though or he won't go to sleep at night!

DD stopped napping at about 15 months. She just refused to sleep until bedtime.
It was not a fabulous time Grin

DS1 was about 20 months and has always been difficult to get to sleep. He sometimes sleot in the car but not often.
If your DD is ready to give up naps, I would suggest some quiet time at her usual nap time e.g. reading stories, puzzles, watching a cbeebies programme.

DS gave up the nap when he was 25 months >wistful sigh<

I actually always was strict about nap and bedtime routines, but DS just went cold turkey and that was that.

tiggy114 · 28/11/2012 15:14

Thanks. I amhoping the lack of nap means she'll actually go to bed at a reasonable time instead. Fingers crossed Smile

Around 3 yrs 2 months. Dd was a brilliant sleeper!

DD1 is 2.10 and strating to drop it - now has nap every third day only.

Lawabidingmama · 28/11/2012 19:33

DD1 is 2.8 and naps every day for at least an hour straight after dinner up to bed! She really needs it as on the rare occasions she's not napped she's shattered by 5pm! At around 2 she started to fight her naps but if e went out in the car she would always fall asleep within minutes so I knew she still needed and perservered! I don't lie with her either and I found that stimulated her and she struggled to get over.

My 21 month old will only nap in the car now.

noisytoys · 28/11/2012 19:43

gnocci · 28/11/2012 19:48

DS is 24/25months and sleeps 2 hours during the day and 12/13 hours straight through at night! :D
