I'll probably combine an online tute with copying one of the pul ones I've got. I like making it up as i go along. If i could afford £12 for wool I'd crochet my own but not sure i like the not-washing aspect. Maybe acrylic soakers? Dp likes how quick my fleece liners dry which is where the idea came from completely unprompted honest

I get 4-5 hours from a (small) pf-stuffed cheapie, although i have to double the front end to get them to fit. I use a microfibre+a bamboo in my alvas as they're more slimline. Then the large pf's over night. They're Cotton Bottoms.

Fingers crossed for better health soon Brew

Apparently its a phase he is going through but its getting worse. He had the squirts before so will be in sposies til the morning and ate most of his tea but it was pasta which is a guaranteed food to be eaten. Grin

I've got a fleece wrap but it leaks a bit by morning so must boost more!

Little D is trying to roll over but he looks like a flappy fish, very funny.

Roll on better health for all of us! And longing for the day we'll not be cross eyed from fatigue!

ValiumQueen · 30/01/2013 18:01

Would acrylic work? As a soaker? I too don't fancy the non washing aspect of wool. You could make one using a charity shop jumper. No need to unravel it, just cut it out and sew. I think you shrink first, but not sure.

Apparently it works just like fleece. I have yet to take the plunge...

I have made myself some boob pads as I'm sick of the seams on the mothercare ones chafing my nips. 2 layers of fleece sandwiching a layer of towelling, then blanket stitched. Fingers crossed!!

Biscuit its both really, you meet up for a coffee and a giggle AND you swap/sell nappies to each other. It's a win/win really, you get to make friends and eat cake plus there is the chance of new fluff to try. At the HRNP one there will be stalls selling probably but it will still involve cake :o

KentuckyFriedChildren · 30/01/2013 20:17

Pidj this is most likely one of the wierdest things I've ever typed, but good luck with your boobs :o

ValiumQueen · 30/01/2013 20:42

I think of a soaker as an insert, absorbent.

PP have you ever made one of the boob hats for women who are bfing and want to piss people off?

ValiumQueen · 30/01/2013 20:45

Have put a pic on FB

PurplePidjin · 30/01/2013 21:06

Seen it and commented. I haven't but it's easy enough to do if you want one?

My boob pads are a bit small, but waaaaaaaay comfier than the shaped ones with a bloody great seam up!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 30/01/2013 22:01

Nothing worse than a chafed nip. Wink

ValiumQueen · 30/01/2013 23:28

A chafed clit is pretty awful. Apparently.

PP there are similar ones with a target on. Would take guts to wear either and you just know that it would offend. And you could never wear it with your partner.

ValiumQueen · 30/01/2013 23:32

Your seamed ones, have you tried popping them inside out? So the seam is not against your skin?

PurplePidjin · 31/01/2013 00:42

The seam is both sides - row of buttonhole zigzag up the radius. Designed by a man!

Shock at chafed clit VQ!

PP the nappy rainbow sounds lovely, I would get a lot of satisfaction from arranging them in order - post a pic when you've got them all.

Blue nothing I need at the mo but hope you get funds for your sling addiction soon...

I seem to be in the process of starting up a nappy library... A casual enquiry on Facebook can take you a long way - thanks KFC for the inspiration - I'm a bit worried about how it all works so am still investigating - maybe I won't get that far & will just try & organise nappucino - but I do like the idea of spreading the fluffy love. I've got in touch with the Hackney Nappy Network and Real Nappies for London and am on an fb group for nappy libraries... There seem to be loads in Scotland! A disproportionate number - no wonder we have so many Scots on here! Grin

And my bamboozles and a couple of real Easies arrived... Have hidden away the tiny ones and in the process of giving the bamboozles a gazillion prewashes. Huh.

NappyHappy · 02/02/2013 21:42

Hi Blue, can you tell me more about the LL OSFA please? Grin

I'm bidding on some Ittis and have been picked as a tester for the Nappy Lady to try some new strip wash stuff. I can try it on Metanium stains!

DS2 is on the mend finally but now has 6 teeth coming through including Molars so he's in bits poor sod. The heating and hot water failed on us last night and they came out about 7pm tonight and all fixed thank chuff!

Rainbow nappies, excellent!

Bluetinkerbell · 02/02/2013 21:50

nappy they're plain white, come with 2 microfibre inserts each. Osfa means one size fits all so basically birth to potty :)

NappyHappy · 02/02/2013 22:19

Are they Bamboo? Wink

Bluetinkerbell · 02/02/2013 22:28

No they're not bamboo!
But you remind me I've got 5 size 1 lollipop bamboo nappies and 1 wrap. All washed, only 1 used once, £23

NappyHappy · 02/02/2013 22:42

The Lollipops are great for night time, really soft. I'll have those off you please, they still fit ds3. PM me ones email address. I've just won the Ittis Grin

I'm going to sell my Bamboozle size 1's in the next few weeks.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 03/02/2013 12:58

Well we were supposed to have a nappucino yesterday but had to cancel Sad but on the bright side I am getting on pretty well with my sling library! There is loads of interest, I actually had a woman come up to me in the supermarket the other day asking about my moby. Had another woman ask me about my nappies when I was changing squish in the shopping centre, I always leave the door open as it's a massive room, but the corridor outside is a bit tight if you have to wait with buggies and kids etc, and she noticed my nappies and came in. I directed her to the nappucino group on fb so it looks like we may have a new convert in the group! I am waiting on fluffy post- did anyone get a free miosolo? I got a lemon one, plus I am waiting for some fleece so I can knock together some longies. Also waiting on some lovely fabric to make a few cross back dresses and a babywearingbag. I will post up pics either here or on fb once they are done, if people like them I may sell a few. Am thinking about re-opening my fb shop under a new name as I feel like a change. Pidj how much are you selling your hats for? I'd really love a wee crocheted bunny hat for her but I'm absolutely crap at crochet :o

NappyHappy · 03/02/2013 13:49

That's brilliant KFC! There's a big changing room in the Trafford Centre that sounds like that.

Where did you get the free Mio from?

KentuckyFriedChildren · 03/02/2013 14:08

Their website, promo code ED01, you get one miosolo for the cost of p&p which is £4.95 Wink one of the nappucino girls posted it. It's an emma's wankbook diary offer.
