I loooove the corpse bride. And NMBC. I have been snooping looking at your photos NH. Your boys are lovely! And your profile says you're a metal head. I think I luffs you :o

Does anyone else randomly click on other posters' names and look through their pics? Blush

The nappies you sent me Pidj are lovely but dd is still a bit teeny for some of them :o That bambinex is soooo fluffy I feel like cuddling it :o

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2013 02:48

I love it too, it just didn't handle the load from a front-sleeping boy iyswim Sad I'm glad it's got a luffly new home though

If you pull the corners of the front panel up, you get a better fit on the legs Wink

Haven't tried the hemp out yet, they do feel thicker than the LL bamboo. They're on the airer now so it'll prob be tomorrow night that we try our first night in cloth The last couple of nights her morning nappy hasn't been as full as it used to be, so I'm hopeful.

NH did I see a few posts back that you've quit your job? Are you going to do something else or be a SAHM for a while? I am working on convincing a friend who is not happy in her job to quit and eat biscuits with me all day be SAHM too heh heh.

PS I actually did live in Nottingham for 2 years - but moved to London 7 years ago - how did you know?! Psychic powers...?!

KentuckyFriedChildren · 22/01/2013 15:49

I know exactly what you mean, ds is a front sleeper too and he was in nappies til he was nearly 4! He had pull ups like these (that is an excellent site btw) once he was 2 1/2 and we were trying to potty train. I tried other brands but those were the only ones that worked for him that didn't leak at night. Just for you to keep in mind for once PidjChick is a bit older Smile

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2013 15:55

Kfc, ds is just about fitting the babylands now at 8lb15 (this morning) stuffed with a small prefold (i sent you one for each) That combo does 3-5 hours for us :)

KentuckyFriedChildren · 22/01/2013 17:44

8lb5 here. Was at the talipes clinic today and it looks like one more cast and she'll be ready for the op. Was looking through some old photos and put a couple on my profile. Put a couple new ones on too Smile Inspired by the blw thread :o

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2013 18:16

Envy you're way more glam than me (ds was 9 weeks yesterday)

OP posts:
KentuckyFriedChildren · 22/01/2013 18:44

ha! I only really get dressed properly when I have to go into Inverness so that was a rare good moment :o I usually have a pair of muddy joggers and wellies stuck to my feet!

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2013 19:05

:o

OP posts:
KentuckyFriedChildren · 22/01/2013 19:24

Anyway I bet you look better than you think. We all think we look shit even the stunners Smile

NappyHappy · 22/01/2013 20:45

Ha ha stalk away. I always look at peoples profiles but I can't view them on this app so have to remember to look on the desktop site!

Just been trying to settle all 3 of the little monsters. DS1 had been puking 5.30-10am then bossing me about all day then DS2 has just been really whacking his head again on his cot and DS3 is making his pre fall asleep kitten/car noises!

Whenever I put the choonage on the 2 elder kids do dance about to it and it calms ds3 down when he's having a moment. Not that they were subject to music everyday in utero with me having my earphones in every morning going to work!

Road testing the Lollipop bamboo tonight.

NappyHappy · 22/01/2013 20:56

Biscuit, with everything that's going on at home it's for the best ATM that I be a SAHM for a bit but my boss said I can go back when things are back to normal and the kids are older. I don't know where the Nottingham thing came from. Hmm

PP you looked better than what I did after birth, I shared the pool with a poop and looked like I'd been electrocuted Grin

Wellies and joggers/leggings here too then jamas in the house all day.

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2013 20:56

I've just chucked my weight around on farcebook so we can all be even nosier :o

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 22/01/2013 20:57

I was 34 hours in at that point, that look of sheer relief lasted 30 seconds!

I have put more photos on facebook and accepted your request NH. I've just realised that I am probably the youngest fluffer I know Confused Why do you think that is? I started with ds when he was about 8 months (he was only into newborn clothes at 6 so nappies were the extra prem ones) and I would have been just turned 19. I don't know anyone my age that hasn't done sposies and bottles and monster trucks prams. I don't think it's promoted as an option to younger mums. I'm going to have a word with my health visitor and find out why and also get in touch with highland real nappy project to see what they can do. I think it's a shame that it's not the norm any more. My mum and mil both say that when we were babies it was common place to use terries. Why has that changed I wonder? Sad

PurplePidjin · 23/01/2013 00:07

I have a friend of 21 using fluff and bf her 1yo. We're the village hippies :o

OP posts:
KentuckyFriedChildren · 23/01/2013 01:02

:o I would love to meet other hippy likeminded mums my age but there just aren't any here. When ds was tiny my hv wanted me to go to a young mums group and I went once but just couldn't bring myself to go back. The other mums were mostly 16 and on benefits and didn't know who the father was. Not that there is anything wrong with that well there is but who am I to judge? but I was married and owned my own business and simply didn't fit in at all. Dh and I have been together for nearly 14 years now and I know we are the exception not the rule amongst young parents and that makes me Sad The next youngest mum at the school gates is 32 which doesn't help. But at that group the so called 'leader' who was supposed to be advising the 'women' just sat there and didn't say anything useful at all. It was like sitting in netmums the way she was speaking to them, it was practically spoken text speak Hmm They weren't being told anything about natural parenting and I know the hv team don't even give out leaflets for things like breastfeeding for younger mums. It's pathetic Angry As you may see I feel rather strongly about this :o

PurplePidjin · 23/01/2013 03:13

Our hv team have been asking me about slings and cloth. Such ignorance from the apparent professionals Sad

OP posts:
LeBFG · 23/01/2013 08:55

You are an inspiration KFC. You're so young but so with it. No wonder you didn't fit into the young mums group. Where I live, I get fed up with the parenting advice too. I was watching the equivalent to OBEM the other day and the mum wanted to try bf just after the birth - dad pulled an almighty strop and sat arms folded in the corner of the room, couldn't even bear to look at his wife and baby Sad Angry. I was fuming at the TV....

KentuckyFriedChildren · 23/01/2013 10:44

Blush I'm just doing my best. I just wish there were more resources and information given to new mums, especially the younger ones. Hvs are so overworked its unreal. My own hv is brilliant but when I asked her about fluff in the area she said it's v unusual but they would love to encourage it if they had the resources to supply info to mums. It's sad that there is no money for this kind of thing as it would be in line with the govs eco policies to have some sort of nationwide incentive scheme. There are only a few schemes in the uk, and our one here was scrapped a few years ago because there weren't enough takers Sad The problem was that they weren't advertising it apart from online, where you would have to actively search for the scheme. There should be tax breaks or grants or something to get people using fluff, public transport etc (though I wouldn't condone that for bfing purely because that is the woman's body and her choice, plus many cannot do it for various reasons) AND I should be made Prime-minister :o rant over

NappyHappy · 23/01/2013 11:33

Its like that round here too. I know 2 bf mums, no other fluff users and have seen 1 sling wearer. There are 5000 people registered at the Dr's so am presuming that's how many people live in the area I do. I really wanted to bf but the last 2 ds it just didn't work out and I do feel bad about it. But when I feed him I hold him real close as if he were bf so we can stare at each other

I've put the babies in bed and ds1 I think will be joining me in my Nana nap. He is dresses as Ben10 today and snotting all over me.

Our local council scrapped the nappy scheme a few years ago due to funding. The HV and MW were quite bemused by my maiden on wash day Grin

Vote KFC FOR PM!!

NappyHappy · 23/01/2013 11:37

Pressed send too quick. I asked the HV if there was a group for young mums that I could help run but there were no takers ( I'm 32 and the oldest mum on the Walk. ). My thinking was maybe they needed someone with more life experience than a HV to help run it. Hey ho.

Still baking BFG? How are you feeling??

PurplePidjin · 23/01/2013 11:59

My hv is shit. Apparently I'd cope better if I cooked extra and froze some. So completely unlike the last 13 years then Hmm

These are the people who have taken 2 weeks to ponder if I need a homestart referral for a 9wo baby and a partner who's just had a stroke Angry

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 23/01/2013 12:02

My dr, however, is fab. Saw ds's cloth at his 8w check and said "Wow you really are doing it right" :o
