I shall have a look at those links tonight. Grin

LeBFG · 13/01/2013 17:07

Great links - the bib looks fantastic. I'm inspired. Thanks a lot.

Pidj - those sleeps are great. I hope I'm as lucky .

KentuckyFriedChildren · 13/01/2013 18:03

I tried to watch it on 4od but it wouldnt play Sad We don't have tv cos the signal was awful and sky is the only company that do up here and I think they're well overpriced for the amount we would actually watch. We can get catch up like iplayer etc on the xbox so I do that.

Lucky you living so close to abakhan Envy We have a remnant kings near us but it's shite. Fabric is sooo much cheaper daaan saaaf. NH are you thinking of selling if you make something good?

Wow you guys have been busy!

I do not like cats and do not have the energy or finances for a dog.

I am missing my fluff. Still no washing machine.

Still not enough sleep.

Plan to dig out my sewing machine. The last thing I made was my wedding dress.

NappyHappy · 13/01/2013 19:32

Don't know what to do KFC it wouldn't be for a long time if I did its been a long time since I used a machine.

Where do you live KFC? Sounds intriguing.

Abakhan is a bus ride away in the centre of Manchester but its been at least 10 years since I've been into town I don't know what else is there fabric wise now, Rusholme will be good for Sari fabric

Angry for no washing machine Valium. Have you been going to friends and family to use theirs? I second the no sleep, I'm in a really foul mood so if anyone has done something daft tell me!! Grin

I have half a bottle of rose in the fridge and some home made rice crispie cakes that I might have.

Does anyone use Pharmacy First?

Ooh, its been snowing a little here!! Shock

NappyHappy · 13/01/2013 19:33

PS she uses fluff!!! (16 keep kids)

KentuckyFriedChildren · 13/01/2013 20:44

I live about 12 miles from Inverness in a "village" (about 8 houses/farms) so close enough to be convenient for the hospital/shops but far enough away that its totally inconvenient for the hospital/shops if you don't drive like me. We live at the top of a massive hill and right now its far too cold for snow. My address has the name of the nearest village tagged on the end (3 miles away) since our "village" doesn't have a name :o Its lovely here but it can be a total pita especially once the snow does come as we'll be stuck. We're lucky to be so close to the farms actually cos if we run out of milk or eggs I can ask one of them which is always useful since the nearest shop is the one in the actual village which shuts at 5. I realise it all sounds idyllic to most people, and it can be, but being so isolated can be hard, especially in winter.

NappyHappy · 13/01/2013 21:24

It does sound beautiful. I'd like to live out of the way but I don't drive either so need to be in walking distance of shops. Internet shopping is my friend. Grin

Its snowing here now.

Peace in the house at last!!

KentuckyFriedChildren · 13/01/2013 21:53

Yeah I do most of my shopping online too. I'm not keen on shopping where there's people :o

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2013 03:59

We've pondered moving more rural, decided we'd love it but hate having to drive everywhere. We're currently in a town, between forest and sea, virtually on top of a shop open 7am-10pm.

Love love love my fluffy Realeasies :o

LexiLoganberryBump · 14/01/2013 11:46

This is probably a really stupid question but I'll ask anyway.

I was on the nappy ladies website and she mentioned wicking, what is wicking?

Thanks

LeBFG · 14/01/2013 11:48

KFC it does sound lovely where you live. I have a romatic idea of being snowed in for winter....in all likelihood, not at all nice! I get fed up here over winter even though the bad weather never lasts long. Perhaps it's just living in the countryside? In winter, everyone seems to go into shutdown - life revolves around cutting wood and making stews. Do you get much of a growing season in Inverness? What sorts of veggies can you grow up there?

Pidj - are your Realeasies second hand? I've found three on ebay but secondies have been a bit hit and miss for me.

Hi VQ. I just dug out my sewing machine to do a couple of those bibs. Great fun. Your washing machine knows how to time a breakdown. I think I've jsut f*cked mine - I put in an underwire bra and the wire bit has come out and got right into the drum - DH doesn't know yet .

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2013 12:50

BFG, first one was, then i bought 3 1/2 price from babykind :)

Hi, Lexi, wicking is where pressure forces moisture through fabric. If you've ever camped in an old-fashioned tent you'll know not to touch the inside - same thing :)

LexiLoganberryBump · 14/01/2013 12:52

Thank you very much Purple

KentuckyFriedChildren · 14/01/2013 18:17

Well it's mostly cow, pigs and sheep but the most common farm crops here are potatoes, wheat and corn but most farms have at least a small patch of other staple veg like carrots, onions etc and there are quite a few fruit farms too. We grow in our garden a selection of root veg and we have toms and strawberries in the greenhouse in summer. We have an apple tree and a plum tree too and a couple gooseberry bushes. In case you hadn't guessed I'm a bit of lentil-weavery earth mother environmentalist type :o or at least thats what dh likes to tell me. He's a bit more stuff orientated.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 14/01/2013 19:16

Oh btw you wonderful pidj you. Those nappies arrived today. Thankyooooooo!!!! Thanks

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2013 20:05

My absolute pleasure - i was sent some by another poster with the caveat that i pass the good deed on. You can pass it on when you get the chance, or donate them to a library when you finish with them :)

NappyHappy · 14/01/2013 20:14

I'm coming to live with you KFC.

I can't wait til I can try and grow my own again, I failed miserably last year so have downloaded a veg app to tell me when to sow inside then outside.

Had to put Davey on Infant Gaviscon the projectile vomming is immense. Its been going on pretty much since he was born and everywhere is covered in milk. Shock

Pp, Tesco have apparently started making their own terries Grin going to sorting office tomorrow!!!!!

Bfg, I was forever losing wires in the washer then pulled them all out and got those crop top things with support the in.

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2013 20:24

Pidj my facebook stalking didn't turn anything up. I still have no idea who your BW consultant friend is. I'm usually so good at it too Sad

KFC - it sounds idyllic. DH and I got engaged while on holiday up in your beck of the woods. We live in the central belt now, I can see the Ochil Hills from my livingroom window. I'm from the arse end of nowhere in the Borders so get itchy feet every so often and dream of moving out of the town back to a more rural existence but DH isn't so keen.

Got the dispatch notice for my TARDIS Wee Notions, hurrah!

NappyHappy · 14/01/2013 21:41

No way, I never noticed the terries Shock in Tesco.

Those cosmic are ds2's day nappie pre-shat bargain off EBay!

So that's 3 of you living in beautiful Scotland. My maiden name is Scottish.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 14/01/2013 22:29

Haha you're all mental :o sure it sounds idyllic but most would hate it in reality. If we lived in the village it might be more idyllic. Don't get me wrong, I love where we live but whenever we've had anyone to stay they've left thinking we're a bit cukoo :o Its alot of work living like this, and personally I relish it, but it's a bit much for most. Funnily enough I'm from london (but I moved to scotland when I was 10 so have a pretty wierd accent :o) and I love the hustle and bustle and would love to move back there, though maybe not with kids.

NappyHappy · 15/01/2013 19:09

I can be quite anti social and would love to live in a log cabin in the forest with just the kids. As long as I could drive and have internet connection I'd be OK Grin

I have a Black Widow Slingshot to ward off any unwanteds.

Or just live in Royston Vasey.

My pink package arrived today Pidj thank you very muchly!!

PurplePidjin · 16/01/2013 02:40

I already live in Royston Vasey... Well it feels like it sometimes!
