I will have a look on the crap top tonight. Wink

Hopefully he'll not be in long and back home before you know it. How is small person?

LeBFG · 29/12/2012 13:22

Just been catching up. So awfully sorry about your DP Pidj. Sending you and family Thanks. Keep us updated with progress. Nappies are the least of your worries.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 29/12/2012 13:24

I hope so I need my bed and my privacy back! Small is lovely, feed sleep nappy with a little playing in between

Notgrownupinmyhead · 29/12/2012 14:45

Good. I can't cope with my mil, Geordie Nana ds1 calls her. Bet R is filling out nicely now and not looking so new Grin

Hey hey BFG, how's your past week been?

I've just spent the last hour and a half ironing, where does it all come from?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 29/12/2012 17:08

She decided to tell me all about how he should only be fed every 2 hours and I should leave him to cry in between.

Then she told me about how dp cried all the time as a baby

Hmm

R is chunking up nicely, nearly out of nb clothes!

I don't iron. Solves the problem nicely!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 29/12/2012 20:10

I know, rod for my own back. Its the kids clothes not mine and certainly not dh's.

My mum thinks its every 4 hours and was surprised at how often the first 2 fed. 3 is no where near as greedy ad them 2. Sad at not in newborn anymore. I've had to start putting the 0-3m stuff away.

Its a bit mean leaving them to deliberately cry. Sad

Are you getting your dinners cooked for you?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 29/12/2012 20:39

Now apparently I'm a cruel and mean mummy for dragging him out for evening visiting not even properly wrapped up. When packing for this 36 hour visit, a spare snow suit wasn't exactly high priority. He was wearing babygrow, jersey trousers and tee shirt, cardigan, hat and 2 layers of blanket. Its easily 10 degrees outside

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2012 20:59

PP the older generation always think babies are not warm enough as they were given different advice. Try to ignore her Thanks as you are mummy, and mummy knows best. How is DH today?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 29/12/2012 21:31

BP still high and frustrated at lack of fresh air. Also fed up of talking to senile old folk

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2012 21:44

I bet. How old is he? Has he had anything like that happen before? Apologies if you have already said, and feel free to say fuck off if not wanting to talk about it. Pretty scary stuff x

Notgrownupinmyhead · 29/12/2012 22:02

Old school of parenting. My mum thinks the same as your mil. Grr. V is right you're his Mummy. I think if they're too wrapped up then go from hot to cold when getting wrapped and unwrapped they're more likely to get a cold.

Baby has just done another huge projectile vomit all over the place. Lovely.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 29/12/2012 22:05

That's one of the worst bits about hospital, the older folk you seem to be put with! The msg I've just sent hadn't sent and I've just seen your last posts.

Are the old dears getting on his nerves?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/12/2012 00:23

DP is 47 and runs ultra-marathons. He had bp problems years ago but last took medication in 07, 2 years before we even met. He cycles 12 miles a day to/from work ffs!

MIL is a retired nurse, this is her 5th GC. The eldest is nearly 20. You'd think she'd know that guidelines change - her youngest dc is 42 with 2 dc, in fact dp is the last of the three siblings to. Start a family! BIL has a 20yo and a 2 month old.

LeBFG · 30/12/2012 07:23

How very odd Pidj! And how very distressing for everyone Sad. Hope he is able to come home soon. I don't know anything about strokes - is he in any pain?

I had the warm clothes thing a lot esp early on. I still get it now, even from random strangers. DS shoots around the place all day at top speed and my older friend wants to see him wrapped up in double jumpers. He pulls them off now so can make the point himself!

Love newborns too Notgrownup. In fact, I've really changed. I used to be very so-so about having kids and probably could have lived happily without. Then DS came along and I nearly lost him and then after his birth a great desire came over me to have more. Loads more Grin. Much to DH's consternation. I had to pursuade him for DC2 so I don't think I'll really become Ma Walton.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/12/2012 08:07

He's got a stonking headache

Its not like I have a choice what to dress him in. I've been wearing the same bra for nearly a week, ditto pyjamas. No time to get them clean.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 30/12/2012 11:32

He looks a lot younger than 47!!!! Bet you both can't wait to get back to your place and your own bed. As much as its nice being looked after there's no place like hone.

Wonder if its work stress too that's bought in on? Is the headache not down to the old dears he's sharing with Wink

I end up with the same bra on for days too, I forget to get a clean one out the drawer (when I bother putting one on).

I'm trying to get boy3 to settle earlier than 10pm so have started asking him earlier and waking him up after an hour (day naps) and putting boy2 to bed slightly later so they'll meet in the middle ready for when they come to share a room.

How are you feeling BFG?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/12/2012 11:44

I feel like I'm free-loading tbh, having people run round after me all day. The headache is the swelling/bleeding.

I only have 3 bras - 1 for days and 2 soft. I've got the day and 1 night with me to alternate. If I were home I could wear a soggy one for a day and not jiggle too much, not an option atm

Notgrownupinmyhead · 30/12/2012 12:22

Hope you're both home soon. Sad

Enjoy the getting looked after while you can if you can. Bet you're really tired with it all. The Dr s given any idea of a discharge day yet? Have you had much sleep?

I've just like looked in the mirror and look like Eraserhead!

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/12/2012 12:52

Me too. I hate being looked after!

LeBFG · 30/12/2012 13:06

Ahh, Pidj, don't feel too bad about people looking after you. They like to be able to do something, it's fustrating standing by and watching and doing nothing. I guess they'll have to wait for the swelling to go down before discharge - at least. He's probably in the best place for now - he can access some pretty strong painkillers if needed, so...Just hard on you all. Take each day at a time and slob out if needed. No one looks at your bra! Do you go and visit everyday or do you phone sometimes?

Hehe at Eraserhead (I had to google him Blush). I'm fine apart from boredom and a cold. We're looking at investing in a second home just visited the property today, so not as boring as most days I suppose Smile.

Has everyone now recovered from the dreaded D&V?
