Anyone using a Sleepcurve mattress in cot? On top of regular mattress or not?

We are looking at getting a Sleepcurve mattress for the cot, but I'm wondering if I need to put it on top of a regular mattress or just use it on it's own. Tomy site or the kiddicare video doesn't specify.

Any experiences to share?

THanks.

I had one for dd and used it on top of the existing mattress. Be prepared though, the 'curve' is quite deep and they look really uncomfortable! I can't remember how long we used ours for but I remember struggling with it because I couldn't see how it would work if dd was sick in the night.

I presume you're concerned about flat head syndrome?

Hi crazyhorse. Yes, my nephew in law had it and while he's fine now it's taken 2.5 years. Also hear its sloped to help with colic and the position helps breathing. I'm a bit of a yoga and dance fan so good posture is important to me.

Did you continue with it? Was it ok if she was sick? Did it help with breathing/flat head/colic at all?

Hi, yes we did use it for a while, mainly because I was obsessed with flat head! Dd never looked very comfortable in it though and actually because of this I used to put a soft baby pillow in the 'hole' to make it less deep, so probably there was no point having it at all! She hasn't got a flat head though and there was never any issue with her being sick. Think we had it when she was a few months old so colic wasn't really an issue by then.

We used it until DS started rolling over ... as said, the curve is deep and I did not want him to sleep facing down in it.
