She screams, and screams and screams...

My DD (22 weeks) is going through a really bad phase but I don't know why.

She had a cold earlier this week and I spent 2 nights having to sit up on the sofa with her as she would only sleep whilst sitting upright on me. Every time I moved she screamed all the more.

The cold is now gone but she seems to be upset all the time, she gets in such a frenzy. Won't eat, won't sleep, doesn't want toys etc.

I think she is teething as she is drooling, chewing everything in sight, has red cheeks and runny nappies etc. I am giving her Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and teething powders. She also has lots of teething rings to chew on. Surely all of this should be helping her symptoms?

I am at the end of my tether, nothing I do to help seems to make any difference. We have no bed time routine at the moment as it just doesn't work.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Is there any chance she could have an ear infection? My dd1 used to get them frequently after a cold, and they're horrendously painful. Or the cold might have caused a throat infection , hence the drooling (although chewing does suggest teething as well). Might be worth getting the GP to have a quick look in her ears.

Thanks for your replies- I will get her checked over tomorrow and see what happens. She is sleeping on me at the moment.
