I'm not sure where to ask this, so here will have to do!

Hello! Random query ahead...

I am broody as all hell, but I don't logically want children for another few years (DP and I are getting married next year).

A friend of mine just had a little girl, and I am utterly in love with her. I'd really like to be involved in her life, babysit and whatnot, but I don't want to encroach upon them and I'm not sure where the line is between "helpful and nice" and "FGS leave us alone". As parents, where is that line for you?

I've got a couple of gifts for her and mentioned that when they (eventually!) need a babysitter I'd be more than happy to do it, but I'm just worried that my broodiness will make me come on too stong...

I'm massively over-thinking this, aren't I?

I definitely know they won't need/want a babysitter for a while Wink

That sounds okay then. I will have to make her a cake Grin
