Hi. Is anyone feeding there babies aptamil comfort milk for colic and constipation? My baby had colic from 4 weeks old and it finally went at about 5 and a half months I was just wondering if anyone is keeping there baby on this milk until they go on to cows milk?

my DD had that milk, but I stopped when she was 3 months old, and now use cow& gate 6 months+ (cheaper than aptamil)

what I did was, to try one feed with with the cow&gate milk, to see what happens, then gradually increased this and decreased the other over a week. it worked for her.
(although hospital nutritionist wasn't happy about mixing the milks, but I thought it's the same as mixing bf & bottle and it worked beautifully!. so I was right to try!)

your baby doesn't have the problems anymore , but is it due to the milk or more mature bowels? if you take him off the aptamil and the problem returns, then put him back on it and try again in let's 2 months.

if he's ok with normal formula, great.

Well when he got to 4 months I tried changing him back to aptamil 1 but his symptoms came back, I wasn't sure now weather to put him on aptamil follow on milk or just leave him on comfort and wait untill he's 1 so he can go on cows milk. His symptoms of colic has gone tho for the past month so I know he's better just don't want different milk to upset him again.

I think it's best to ask HV/GP or call the Aptamil helpline - on box. good luck

It's fine to leave him on the Comfort milk until one, there is no need to go onto follow on milk unless you want to,it has no benefits is just a marketing ploy.
All babies can be on whatever first milk until one.
