DD1 is just turned 2yo, we live at home with my parents and two sisters. My sisters think im being over the top but recently I'm getting uncomfortable with the type of things on tv while DD is in the room. Nothing totally awful but bearing in mind she is only 2 even a lot of 12 certificates have scary or inappropriate content and she has commented once or twice on something she has noticed and I've said I'd rather now that they think more carefully before putting something on or that they don't moan if I ask for something to be turned off.
DDs playroom is in the bottom part of the living room so when we aren't out we are usually there, and the tv is clearly visible whether you are actively watching or not.
So I'm wondering if I'm being daft or not to ask for this, when do children start to really notice, and be influenced or affected by, what they see?
