Hi there ladies!

My 14 year old son is addicted to the computer and I need to cut his time. i want to use a program called timezupkidz to cut his time but the problem is he has his own computer and wont let me on it. does timezupkidz only work on the computer it is on?

Hi yummy. I don't know anything about this particular program, sorry, but surely there is a bigger problem here? Your 14 yr old "won't let you" on to "his" computer? You are the parent here! Perhaps he is not responsible enough to have his own computer? Can you put the machine in a family room and supervise him using it, rather than trying to rely on software? If he is good with IT he may well be able to circumvent any attempts to control the machine.

(BTW from a quick read of this software's website I would suggest that it only works on machines it has been directly installed on. However I can think of several ways that I could circumvent it if I was particularly determined!)

well yes, you could variously bring his computer downstairs, cut the cable, switch off the internet connection, use a timer

you sound a bit, well, passive and reactive, rather than assertive and proactive
