Just dressed dd (6 months)and noticed she has funny marks on the inside of her thigh, they are a cluster of small purple spots, they dont dissapear when i press them either!! she is fine in herself though, a little grumpy but she is teething, im trying not too worry but they do look a little bit scary Sad anyone have any ideas what it could be or what i should do? - i just tried to make a Dr's appointment and they have none left! horrible receptionist was really rude, wouldnt help at all...

any rash that doesn't blanch (disappear under glass) should be dealt with immediately .. take her to A&E NOW!

Twiglett · 03/04/2006 10:08

it is probably nothing .. but take her to A&E .. really .. do it

tortoiseshell · 03/04/2006 10:08

dfinitely go along to A&E - it's probably nothing to worry about, but not worth risking anything imo!

Agree, go to a&e OR call dr back and say it's an emergency and you want a appt now, it's a 6mo with a rash.

Angeliz · 03/04/2006 10:10

A+E.
They won't mind at all and you really need to.
Good luck and let us know+

Helenemjay · 03/04/2006 10:34

Well i just called the Drs back and told the grumpy receptionist off, she put me onto someone else and they have squeezed me in for 3.50 this afternoon so i guess thats something, i just put dd down for a nap and she seems happy enough but you hear all these horror stories and how people/kids can seem fine and just have a little rash but then they get really ill! my sister is a nurse and she said that people tend to get poorly and then really poorly and then at deaths door and then they get the rash and so if she is ok in herself then i shouldnt be too worried!??? im still not sure though, 3.50 seems so far away! Sad

if you are worried take her to A and E!!

nutcracker · 03/04/2006 10:38

Has anyone been tickling her perhaps a bit roughly ??

Ds had exactly the same marks once and it was from Xp tickling him and being a bit too rough (ds loved it mind you).

Pruni · 03/04/2006 10:39

Honestly, a rash like that, A+E. Just to be sure. They won't mind seeing you and at least they'll know the posters are working...

Twiglett · 03/04/2006 10:40

well I wouldn't be waiting till 3.50 personally

it is your decision as her mother of course, but personally and IMO I'd be straight down to A&E and getting her checked out properly

I really would .. and I am surprised you aren't tbh

nutcracker · 03/04/2006 10:41

Meant to add we did actually take Ds to the doctors with it though, had an emergency appointment.

If you can't get seen until this afternoon then i'd go to A&E.

Angeliz · 03/04/2006 20:13

Any news??

Pruni · 03/04/2006 23:20

bump

ShaysMummy · 03/04/2006 23:25

would take mine to a&e. they dont mind and its better to be safe than sorry.

Helenemjay · 05/04/2006 16:11

Sorry everyone my STUPID crappy computer did its nut and we couldnt get it working until about an hour ago! (i hate computers sometimes Angry) but dd is fine!!Smile took her to the Dr's (gp) and he said he wasnt sure what it was and that it didnt look like it could be abything nasty he agreed it looked quite alarming but said she was really happy and fine in herself so to leave her! she is still just fine! she still has this funny rash thing but its alot better and so i guess i worried for nothing - she frazzles my nerves at the moment! bless her, thanks for your help though Smile

Glad to read this as was a little worried when you didn't reply.

My dd was in A+E last week and they scared the life out f me by circling with a pen a pinprick (in the middle of an all over rash) that wouldn't dissapear.
As she was fine in herself they said the same but it's awfulSad

Glad she's o.k+++++

Helenemjay · 07/04/2006 17:14
