My DS, who is nearly 2.3, has a comfort object. It is a carrot. It is currently a very bashed up, slightly moulding carrot. If you are asked to hold the carrot, this is like being given a knighthood and you should not underestimate the privilege.
Before the carrot, he had a comfort object which was a London Underground Oyster card. On days when he felt really tired, he also had to carry around a Nectar card and Costa Coffee card for safety.
He has never liked cuddly toys or blankets. I see lots of children carrying around these comfort items but few children having a nervous breakdown because they left their carrot at the park and life can't continue as a result.
Any other kids with odd comfort objects?
