Nippa Bamboozles on a (big!) newborn?

Ds2 is now nearly 13lbs at 4 weeks old and I was going to buy some bamboozles to try. By my reckoning I'll only have until he is 14 weeks in the size 1 applix so am tempted to go for the size 2 nippas. Have read somewhere though that they don't grip very well? Can anyone give me any advice?

I think they grip fine, I have been using size 2 since our boy was about 14 pounds. We didn't even need to fold down the front of the nappy, but some people do as the fabric is so thin. You could buy one just to try. Which wrap are you planning to use? We use Motherease Airflow (poppers) and they are fine. I think the size one wouldn't be a good investment.
