milk or no milk?

Just wondering people's thoughts. Ds 15.5 mo is a good eater and is generally a good sleeper at night with the odd hiccup due to teeth/illness etc. My concern is more for his nap time. I really want him to get into the habit of having a nap after lunch.....he does this fine at his grans in a travel cot.....but anywhere else......home/Childminder he will not settle?? Without milk anyway and then he is gone in minutes!!! My question is should I continue to give him his afternoon milk to ensure a decent nap or persevere with no milk and short naps, if any?? I know by this age and the fact that he's a very good eater he doesn't 'need' the milk.....but if he still wants it shall we continue and just hope he grows out of it??
Any tips? Similar experiences?
TIA.

How much milk does he have over a day force? Between 12 and 24 months the NHS recommend 300 ml of full fat cows milk per day so maybe you could give him his milk after lunch and not at other times?
