21mo getting up in the night

How do we deal with this? Dd has behaved beautifully since ds was born 10 days ago, except in the last 3 nights when she's woken up between 2 and 5 demanding various books, or to come and see her baby brother (she can string one or 2 words together but nothing more). The first night was combined with her having an earache and temp so she did come in with us for a bit - and the next night I thought she was still off colour so brought her through again. Very anxious for it not to become a habit though - how do we deal with it but still be sympathetic given that she's going through a big change?

All advice very much appreciated!

Could one of you just keep guiding her back to bed? If she asks for a story, tell her that you'll read her nor after breakfast.

Either that or stick a stair gate over her bedroom door [hgrin]
