Can anyone recommend an electronic, noisy, flashing lights toy for 3yo?

I hate this sort of toy and dd doesn't have any. However, she seems to love other children's toys that "work" and have buttons, lights, voices etc. So i was wondering if anyone could recommend something, preferably educational, so I can feel like I am being a good parent (rather than just looking for ways to keep dd occupied whilst I'm heavily pregnant!)
Thanks for advice

I hate them and DS (2.2) doesn't have a single thing that takes batteries. Don't bow to the pressure!!

That said, would she be ready for an Innotab type thing? I plan to have one of these for DS eventually.

this and this were very popular with oth of mine, and all their friends who came to visit (though we bought ours second hand from eBay rather than pay those prices!)

If you wanted an inbetweener, how about a vtech lap top www.amazon.co.uk/VTech-Kids-My-Laptop-Orange/dp/B002ECZYFS/ref=sr_1_12?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1351367920&sr=1-12
