Ds1 is 6.4 and I feel clueless as to what friendships look like at this age!

There's a variation on this.
Ds2 is 6y2m and he has a group of friends (about 6 or so)who consider each other best friends. They share his general interests (Star Wars, running around, Lego etc) and seem to be similar personality- sometimes bossy, sometimes very sweet. One boy is more confident/bossy than the others but not so much that it's a problem.
Sometimes the boys fall out and say stuff like "I'm never playing with you again." So come out sad but it's always forgotten the next day. They sometimes play as a group of 6, but it might be 3 and 3 or they involve other boys.

My first sentence means that the norm for my ds is not the norm for all kids.

DS is only 4 and recently started school. He has a new best friend everyday. Every afternoon I hear about how he doesn't play with Jaiden anymore and that Peter is his new best friend. Then the next day I ask who he has played with at break and he says "my best friend Jaiden of course."
