7mo won't stop farting and crying all night. All she's eating is weetabix and organic bottled purée foods.

Try cycling her legs when she's lying on her back. It can help release the built up wind. Also baby massage and a circular tummy rub can help move the wind around.

Are you still rubbing her back / burping her after she has eaten? That could help release some of the pressure before it moves downwards.

Poor thing, she can't be comfortable.

Ditch the weetabix.

Try something other than wheatabix. My friends little boy reacted like this to them.

Also if you puree your own food then you know exactly what is in it.

How much milk is she having during the day?

Weetabix can cause a lot of digestion problems. I wouldn't give it to a 7 month old.

I used to give mine a very small amount of porridge, once a day. and a little bit of pureed veg, fruit, maybe some rice. But really, they still get most of their nourishment from milk at 7 months.

Agree with advice to ditch the weetabix. Your baby's gut may not be able to deal with the gluten at this stage. It's also got sugar and salt in it, which your baby doesn't need. Stick to pureed veg and fruit.

I really wouldn't waste money on bottles of puree.

Just cook veg without salt and squish it up. Ditto a little bit of banana, or apple. you really should be just giving little tastes at this age.

DS2 weaned himself off the breast by scooping mashed potato and carrots off my plate. He was 11 months, and I would have been happy to continue feeding him for longer, but he liked the dinners better

Hi guys thanks for all the advice I will stop the weetabix and try baby porridge for breakfast instead. She doesn't eat home cooked food at all I don't kno why but she knows the difference. I've tried all sorts of home food and puréed it.

Should I ditch one meal. So just give her two meals a day rather than 3.

Shes only drinking about 4 ounces of milk in the entire day.

I would say she needs fewer solids and more milk at this age. Her gut won't be able to cope with it.

What drinks are you giving her besides the milk?

She needs more milk and some water too. Tap water is fine from six months. She might be windy and backed up. Give her a bottle/breast feed when she wakes up in morning take the edge off the hunger and then an hour or so later when she's calm try some porridge and puréed fruit. She might be more receptive if she's not starving hungry. You really do need to get more milk into her! :)

And yes I'd back off with some ( not all ) solids til you have her taking adequate milk and then introduce slowly to allow her tummy to acclimatize

She needs more milk than that, that's probably why she's struggling.

Are you holding her upright against your shoulder after feeds, making sure she gets rid of any swallowed air?

This is so important in my experience though it might not be the problem.

Sounds like her little digestive system is struggling.

Get rid of weetabix, try porridge. Plum do a good one.

We had this at the start of weaning and dd grew out of it luckily. But concentrate on milk and not solids.

Maybe try some finger foods if she is not keen on purrees you make. You can bake sweet potato until its really soft and they can try and eat that.
