Please help, getting worried. 8 week old, breastfed, has always fed well/generally happy suddenly not latching on when put to breast, gets nipple in mouth but doesn't start sucking, is def hungry - rooting etc. Is inconsolable, crying and crying. No fever, no rash, colour good.

What could be wrong? Am worried as this is not normal for them

Sleep? I used to get hunger screams and exhaustion screams mixed up

My son was exactly the same at 8 weeks. Wasn't diagnosed until we took him to hospital. He had severe silent reflux.

Dd was the same at 6 weeks. Had very severe reflux. But it also came with projectile vomit, 15hr screaming fits and had to be held verticle. That was a fun 10 weeks Sad

Any sign mouth is sore, could be thrush?
If LO hasn't taken any feeds for 12 hours or nappies dried up you may have to get some help or express and try a bottle.
Good luck.

Well baby has just fallen asleep in my husbands arms so maybe that was it! I hope it's not reflux, baby is v sicky though gaining weight well and generally very content. First baby was same and not reflux.

Thanks all for the advice!
