Spelling test advise

Dd started y2 a few of weeks ago, and apart from the usual settling in seems to love her new school.

I think she has a fantastic teacher and some great kids in her class.

My problem is her spellings. She has been fine til this week, but for some reason this week's spellings have just felt like the hardest challenge.
Spellings she got right she's now spelling wrong! I just don't get it!
I know she's trying but how can she spell a word correctly yesterday and get the same word wong today?

I'm trying desperately to remain patient and calm but this is sooo frustrating!

Do you pin up the list as soon as you get it? I used to put ours on the fridge at DDs height so she could see them....then all week while I cooked or whatever I used to turn it over so it wasn't visible and then quiz her...so I'd say "How do you spell Apple" and she'd try...she'd say it out loud....that seemed easier to her than looking and covering it up and trying to remember how to write it.

Then towards the day of the test, when I was sure she knew how to SAY them all...I would ask her to write them down...so I would say "Write Apple" And she always got them.

What were this week's spellings? Do they follow a rule or a pattern?

The ability to read and spell begins at home.

Well, I was ignoring the typo Bunny.
OP's daughter is usually good at spelling, I was wondering why this week was different.

OP if she is usually good then all I can say is that she's out of practice, same happened to my DD and I am sure it was in year two aswell!

It wasn't "There, their and they're" and similar was it?
