hello,

We are looking for an Arabic Saturday school that is NOT teaching the Quran. I have fond only two in London, the one in Ealing and the one in Portobello road... Both are a bit of a trek from North London.
Any thing else closer to us? Someone told me about one in Paddington or Swiss cottage but i can't find anything about it on the web.

Chokrane :)

Hampstead hill vs NBH

Hello, I am a huge fan of Hampstead hill. Love it. DD goes and is very HAPPY

What about NBH?
Anyone ever take a child out of HHS to go there?
And is it better than Devinshire house?
Thank you.

Does anyone know if an Arabic-speaking playgroup ever took off? Preferred around Highgate/ Islington/ Shoreditch/ Hackney but willing to travel. My first one is 22 months and is starting to need Arabic-speaking friends to realise that there are other children who speak Arabic - his de facto first language is English but we'd like to allow him to grow up properly bilingual.

HEY! So i do realise this thread is fairly old... but if it's appearing on my google search it's definitely appearing on other people's and it still hasn't been answered! i do have an answer though!

I run a Saturday language club for kids (The London Arabic Kids' Club) in Notting Hill Gate, very accessible to those living in and around the area, we are an unconventional club that teaches the Arabic language without the use of textbooks and instead via the use of creativity and play. We do offer Qur'an lessons but it is OPTIONAL, as we try to cater for all :)

ILC is a language-focused school based in Southall (UB1 3HB) We are keen on making learning the Arabic language easy and enjoyable experience for our students.

ILC offers a range of classes to read, write and speak Arabic fluently from beginner to advanced levels.

Our qualified, native and experienced Arabic tutors provide one-to-one lessons as well as small and large groups.

We also help our students to succeed either for personal improvements or for academic qualifications (GCSE and A-Level) in Arabic.

We use a great variety of modern teaching methods of Arabic films, Arabic television, Arabic newspapers, magazines and other texts to help our students to learn real-life Arabic in an exciting and interesting way.

There is a new Arabic School, "The Arabic Club for Kids", now running in north London. It is a language school and not a religious school. It offers a quran recitation class as an elective, but it is not compulsory.
It runs at West Green Primary School N153RT near Turnpike Lane, Seven Sisters.

There is a North London branch of The Arabic Club for Kids arabicclub.co.uk in February. It is an Arabic Language School, and does not teach religion Quran is offered optional session as a textual recitation session. Children who don't choose this class do another language activity.
