I have been in a lot of pain since friday with my back, I have snapped at her lots this morning where im just in so much pain. trying to keep happy but very hard when im in agony. I know all she wants to do is play. What things do you offer your children when you just need to take it easy?

Ive got her animal figures out, drawing, playdough.

It must be so frustrating for her, as she has her baby sister but she isnt able to play as such yet. and she must wonder why mummy is so cranky

BlushI'm ashamed to admit that a good old tent, snacks, dvd Pj day combi is what i provide for toddler aswell as drawing stuff for when im feeling really ill.
Normally this keeps her entertained or i will bring a different box of toys down from upstairs for her to play with as she gets bored with the ones we already have downstairs.
Hope you feel better soon opBear

My day has gone from bad to worse, she's over-tired, grumpy but refusing to nap. I just keep snapping. how do you deal with a toddler who is not listening, doing everything she shouldnt, ignore all of her beautiful toys to just moan? im finding it hard today where i dont bleady feel well.

i cant eat, appetite is shit and she is just picking at foods

very grumpy mummy :(

and when you try to talk to them, and pick them up and they go all limp throwing themselves back. then you end up having to pull them up which then makes you feel terrible. Only another 6 hours until her bedtime - YAWN

all day cbeebies, dvd and rice cakes. A bit of down time won't do you any harm.

Go onto Pinterest and search for indoor toddler activities. Heaps of brilliant ideas there!

Littleraysofsunshine · 16/09/2012 13:13

Finally, she's gone to sleep.

NOW he's the funny part - I feel SO GUILTY for todays events. and feel even more guilty for telling her off for hitting DD2!

What a shit day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stop beating yourself up. Ideally another adult to help out. Short of that unlimited telly and easy snack food. Rest as much as you can and get better.

Littleraysofsunshine · 16/09/2012 13:53

Thanks. Another adult not possible at the minute, I've been parenting alone since december, but dp is home in a few weeks.......

Will try to rest!
