Hi, is arranging with your mother for her to babysit for a few hours on a Sat night and then when you ring her that morning to check its still ok and she tells you she has decided to go for a day out with her partner instead unreasonable behaviour or am I over reacting?
We have had to cancel our night out now. Am really annoyed as we very rarely go out!

Who can explain the mysteries of their mother's thought processes?

Ah well, in twenty years time you can show your kids the way you think it should be done!

Sorry you've lost your night out - bottle of wine and a flick through the old photo albums/listen to the truly ancient parts of your music collection together may be in order?

I think it's unreasonable. If she agreed to babysit then she should have stuck to that. It doesn't sound as if you have a very good relationship.

Your mum is being very unfair.I always babysit when asked and wouldnt back out unless it was a serious health issue.
