Starting nursery and toddler being extra hard work

Hello,

My 2.5yo do started nursery this week, 3 half days a week. It's gone brilliantly - not a tear to be seen and she's been really excited about going. So far, so good.

However, her behaviour the rest of the time has been AWFUL. Really rebellious, refusing to listen to me, hitting me all the time - which she never normally does at all. I'm trying to cut her a bit of slack because I know it's a big change for her, but I can't ignore the hitting in particular.

I know she's probably extra tired, so she's been going to bed early and has been sleeping well. I want her to nap in the day too, but she hasn't done that for ages, and wouldn't nap today.

Anyone else had the same experience? And if so, how long did it last?? I want my lovely little girl back!

Mine is going through it now. Can you conspire to get her to nap? Take her for a walk in the pushchair after lunch by a busy road and she might nod off?

I basically have to get out of the house. All the time! DS is easier if he's running about the park.

Sadly not, pushchair naps went out of favour about a year ago!
