My son went to my parents home this morning to help move some furniture. Ds is 14. He already has spent the day with his girlfriend yesterday. While he is there my Mum asks him to stay for sunday lunch. I am a single parent. I wouldn't dream of asking only my Mum to sunday lunch while my step Dad cooked his own at home? I have said yes as it will only created a arguement with my Mum.
Do you think I am unreasonable to think this way?

I don't understand what you are asking. He's been asked to stay for lunch after helping them out. Whats to object to?

ok no worries I am unreasonable. It's because I am at home waiting for him to go out with him for the day. There have been alot of talks lately as he spends to much time away from home. (eg 10 am to 9.30pm)
I don't want Sunday lunch at my parent's. I am going shopping while I got the peace to! thanks for your replies

Sounds like you should be proud of him for helping his grandparents out unless there's other things you've not mentioned.

You say you'd been waiting for him to go out with him for the day, what was the plan? Could you not go out this afternoon or evening?

It would have been nice if you'd been given the choice to go for lunch too - maybe a bit thoughtless of your mum.
Hope you had a nice afternoon.
