Should I go back to using the buggy ??

Situation is this, Ds is 3.3. In the mrning for the school run he still goes in the buggy, no complaints from him and non from me, it's too early for me to be faffing about.

Since Jan he has gone to nursery of an afternoon (12.45-3.15), he walks there which takes about 15-20 minutes and he walks fine, holding my hand across the road etc etc.

The problem is when I pick him up. I don't take the buggy, but this means I have to chase round the playground after him whilst waiting for the girls, then wrestle him off the climbing frame and then try and get him to not run off on the walk home. He ends up screaming and crying and I end up with a huge headache, plus is takes us ages to walk home.

So should I go back to using the buggy to pick him up at the end of the day ??

no
let him run round the playground. it should be safe. wait till he is ready to go/playground is empty of kids. walk home leisurely.
when the weather is warmer, it will be lovely. meanwhile you will have a nicely tired toddler by the time you get home.

I wouldn't I think he is too old to be pushed around in a buggy. Sorry!

But he is already tired when he gets out of nursery, i think that is the problem.

yes. i'd take the buggy.
there's no maximum age for kids in buggies, and if it makes your life easier then do it!

Can I just say also that the playground is only safe at that time of day if the gates are shut and they aren't. There is one at each end of the playground.

Plus anyway it's when we get out of the gates that the problem starts.

Think i'll try it and see.
