my 3 yr old ds has been potty training since may, and we have now finally got the weeing and holding on down to a fine art, with the number 2s we have had our ups n down and we though that we had it sussed. BUT we have started pooing our pants again, at playgroup, peoples houses, home in fact he doesnt care if hes left in it for a while (esp if i havent noticed/smelt).
we have tried sticker charts, rewards for doing it on toilet/potty, ignoring it, telling him its wrong and on the odd time really losing the plot and rewards if he asks to go but doesnt quite make it/cant go.
after having just change his pants AGAIN i am at my end tether.

help anyone else had this with their ds/dd, what did you do, what worked?
i need this sorted out please anybody help.
TIA TW

Just sending my sympathy. I think this is a boy thing!!! My DS did this everyday for well over a year!! I, like you tried everything and was at the end of my tether. I know it doesn't help much but in the end we had to back off a bit, and try not to make too much fuss. He finally sussed it two weeks before he was due to start school (to my relief). We went on holiday, and he decided he would use the porta-potti. When we got home he progressed to toilet and been fine since. Your DS will get there too. :)

dd does this too...one weeing incident in 5 months since potty training, and has only gone for no 2 in toilet twice - one of those was def a fluke! Im worried she will be kicked out of playgroup (shes 3 too, and only started the group part time a few weeks ago)

morning lmccream,

we have had a slight improvment, since friday morning we have put the potty away and have been making ds go upstaris for the loo.
we have also brought a multi pack of cars from tesco and everytime he does no2 in the toilet he gets to choses 1.
so far (touch wood) since buying the cars sat morning he has had 2 cars, however this morning he went in his nite nappy, which i can deal with as it means that hopefully he wont go in his pants at playgroup. the other thing is that since friday morning ds has been having rice crispies for breakie, i dont know if this makes a diff or not but im not tempting fate by letting him go without.
like you im worried that his playgroup will ask me to take him out till hes sorted. i dont think they can as thats what they get paid for.

ps sorry its long. TW
