Ways to entertain DD?

Help!

My DD is 4 months old and struggling to keep her entertained!

I've got a play mat, bouncy chair, doorway bouncer, I play peek a boo with her and all sorts if other games but nothing keeps her entertained for long - kind of 5 minutes at a time!

Has anyone got any tips or perhaps experienced this too? It seems like she has a very short attention span and it's almost as if she's saying to me "ok I'm bored if that now what's next?!" Is this normal?

Thanks in advance xx

All very normal! Talk to her, you don't have to be 'entertaining', just chat. All she wants is to stare at her mummy and hear her voice. Little handheld rattles and those play gyms that dangle stuff over their heads are good for starting to improve co-ordination. If she is a happy, settled baby then just enjoy, she will be sitting up before you know it! x

Go for plenty of walks while the weather is still nice. Good for both of you!

Also, see if your local council/churches run any baby groups. Ours have a couple specifically aimed at under-1s, so all the toys were age-appropriate, babies were not going to get squashed by older, excited toddlers & you could chat other parents at the same stage of parenting as you!

Thanks both Smile we are starting two groups next week which will be lovely it's just more on a general at home daily basis that I struggle for ideas.
