The bl**dy things are more trouble than they are worthAngry I've hated them ever since they got them,we've had no end of arguments and tantrums over them.
DT1 broke his on the weekend by throwing it in the air while coming down the stairs,it dropped on our tiled hallway and broke.YEEESSSS!!!(one down one to go).

DT2 made me completely lose my rag this evening(really wanted to hit him), so I took out my rage on his tamagotchi.

I'm not proud of myself, but thank god the bl88dy things are GONE.

Am I a mean mummy???

It can annoying with certain toys but I don't think you would like it if someone smashed up your things. Sorry.

cod · 15/03/2006 20:52

BonyM · 15/03/2006 20:59

I suppose it's better than hitting him but it's still violence and scarey.

jac34 · 15/03/2006 22:22

He did ask if there would be another the answer was a resounding NO !!!

Oooh, is anything like this a bad idea?

I got annoyed with DS1 dragging his heels before bath, and (very calmly) took apart a treasured duplo "space ship" in front of him (the thing he'd been playing with, instead of coming in for a bath).

He completely lost it, and was furious with me for an hour, so it wasn't worth it really, but I don't feel that guilty ... should I?

moondog · 15/03/2006 22:26

Hilarious thread title.
If he listens harder next time, you achieved your aim.

Eve2005 · 15/03/2006 22:28

anything that rids the world of one more tamagatchi has got to be a good thing Wink

ja9 · 15/03/2006 22:39

i'm an infant teacher just now & those dreaded things are the bain (sp?) of my life!

you go girl!

zippitippitoes · 15/03/2006 22:43

I used to do smashing things and yes they do care and they do worry, not on a one off but find another way of being angry if you can..but I'm sure those are just designed to wind you up

jac34 · 15/03/2006 22:48

I'm fed up of being called mean and having tantrums, because I wouldn't allow the bl**dy thing at the dinner table, they wouldn't go to bed/school until they had paused it, because the thing will die.
My 7yo lives were taken over by an electronic toy FFS.
Well now it is dead, as a dodo Grin

blimey that seems a bit harsh... so.. what did he do that was so bad to make you loose your rag??

rummum · 15/03/2006 22:53

please don't ask for advice if the future saying my kids are little shits and don't value anything because I will say good... what do you expect!

Sparklemagic · 15/03/2006 22:54

jac34, let this be a lesson to you - never BUY one of these things again and give all friends and relatives strict instructions that your kids do not have these, or anything resembling an electronic toy....

pashmina · 15/03/2006 23:26

personally I don't like them until you can play slot...

Tortington · 15/03/2006 23:47

ah well, we all lose the plot occasionally, dont fret yourself over it.

JennyLee · 16/03/2006 00:36

well I'm sure this is one minor thing that will pass, don't make a habit of it and no harm done in the long run, dont beat yourself up about it, everyone makes mistakes and sees red sometimes

electronic toys sometimes cause so much hassle, my ds if he has a go on a playstation he ends up raging and angry so never hardly uses it. (is really dh's playstation)
