Can anyone recommend DVDs for 2.8 year old DD?

DC2 is due any time now and it occurred to me that having a stock of DVDs for DD to watch might come in handy... She adores Peppa Pig, but hasn't watched much else. Any ideas? Is Hello Kitty good for her age? Or Dora the Explorer?

Ben and holly? Same makers as peppa pig. My dd who us 2.2 loves both of these. Also Winnie the pooh, happy feet, waybuloo etc, c beebies do some good DVDs which are a mix of toddler program's so a better variety of shows on one disc x

The Gruffalo. You'll enjoy it too.

The Wiggles are good if the music doesn't tip you over the edge Grin

Rio, I my son loves it. It's full of catchy music.

Toy story

Fireman Sam

Mickey mouse clubhouse

Chuggington is always popular in our house, as is Fireman Sam.

My dd is pretty much the same age and as well as the usual peppa pig stuff she loves stuff with real children in. I've also realised that these are more bearable for me to sit thought than cartoons. She has watched swallows and amazons, Pollyanna, railway children, Heidi and fly away home! Plus these are mostly nice and innocent, no scary bits etc! And she's started coming out with really cute old fashioned language :)

The kid (now 3.2) has loved Cars since she was 1. She still loves it.

She also adores Bob the Builder - there are a seemingly infinite number of those. And Pingu.

Some things she won't watch really - we've tried other Pixar stuff, but we always end up with Cars or Cars 2.

Yep the gruffalo is good, Gnomeo and Juliet has enough songs for them to enjoy.. can't think of any others, my brain has turned to mush from endless Peppa Pig! (my dd is 2.9 and still stuck on PP)

Yes to Dora the Explorer and Ben and Holly.
DD2 also loves camberwick green and Mr Benn, nice calm shows for quiet time.
Hello kitty dvds are dire!! Avoid avoid!

Also, my mum dosent bother with DVDs she just records a few things on sky + for when dd is there then deletes and records new stuff.

Will second Kitty DVDs being unbearable. The MiL bought one. It lives at her house but somehow the phrase "It must be in the house somewhere!" in a weird American-ish accent has still become a thing we all say.
