How to manage coursework with children.

Hi everyone. I'm going back to college a week Monday as a part-time student. It's three hours in college one day a week but one day in a voluntary placement plus weekly assignments of 1500 words, case studies of 5000 words every two months plus regular homework and coursework.

DD1 is starting Reception but DD2 is not yet 2 so will be home with me 24/7. I'll have the evenings to do work (I do my placement on a weekday evening) and maybe an hour or so through the day during nap time but I'm worried. The first part of the course was only 6 months with one Saturday a month thrown in, 800 word weekly assignments and some homework and the only reason I passed was because I managed to set aside one entire night to revise and work. This course is close to 18 months long with almost triple the work with an added placement thrown in.

I know I can do it academically as it's not extremely challenging but it just feels like there aren't enough hours in the day now. It's a career I'd love and while I would need to do two more courses afterward to be considered to work with any organisation, this qualification would mean I am qualified to work self employed or wthin a company.

Sorry, I posted too soon.

I really want this but I need ideas, tips and experiences from other parents as to how they do it.

I'm studying atm. It's a home study from a distance learning centre so no time at college and I'm in control of how much I do and when.
I work full time and have a 5yo and 3yo.
When I get in from work, I spend some time with the dc's, then once they've gone to bed do a bit of tidying and then coursework.
I don't have deadlines to meet so a bit easier for me I think.

Thanks SilveryMoon.

We do have deadlines but apart from the 1500 weekly assignment they're usually at least two weeks away as since we're part time most of us have work and family commitments too.

It's distance learning in a sense as we have a lot to do outside of the course due to it only being 3 hours in lecture but not if you see what I mean?
