Can 14wk old babies entertain themselves?

My LO is incredibly dependant on me entertaining him whilst he is awake and is unhappy at me leaving him to it if I need to eat, shower, go to the toilet etc Even in his pram he gets unsettled as Iam not holding him. I have purchased some toys which have helped though I still need to be actively involved bobbing them in front of him or gooing in his ears. I can only get things done when someone else is around to hold him or if he sleeps. He has a bouncer chair, donut seat and baby gym which he likes if I am with him but screams if I so much as move onto the sofa.

I think it depends on the baby to be honest. DD1 was like this and my saviour was my sling! I just popped her in and got on with what needed done. DD2 was quite happy to be plonked down in her baby gym and would lie happily for ages.

It's hard work, this baby business! It does all pass though, honest and before you know it they're following you around hanging on to your legs Grin

I would say that's entirely normal at that age. He can't exactly do anything unless someone either holds him up or does it for him.

Get a sling and enjoy it while it lasts. As soon as ds could move independantly he didn't want to know me.
