Childcare grant

I've posted the same in further education but thought I would get more replies here.

I'm starting University in a few weeks time and my student loan has been approved, but they've requested more documents for the childcare grant, so I still don't know if I'm going to get it. I'm very nervous because without it I might not be able to afford the childcare. As anyone got any experience on childcare grants?

Yes! I've been through this finally got mine sorted mind you I originally applied in feburary! Sfe are crap. I had to send in original birth certificate, tax credit award notice 12/13. Child benefit awar notice & income support letter. They were constantly requesting some sort of new evidence if felt like it was never going to get sorted. I'd say just keep on them. Phone every day!! More than once because different people always tell you different things! Find out what you need to complete your application and get it done ASAP! I even seeked help from a citizens advice bureau I was so worried it wouldnt start in time also. Hopefully you've sent the CCG form in already with your childcare provider filling out everything they need to, so just keep ringing them to see if they receive it. They often take a while to scan things you've sent to them on to their system, like 2 weeks. But yh it should work out in the end with persistence! Hope this info has been valuable & hope everything works out!
