SAHM's - Are you tired all the time!

I am a SAHM to a 19 mo DD, I find I am constantly knackered, and could always sleep!!
I am starting to think it is half running around after my DD all day and the fact that I am a SAHM, almost partly being bored! some days with no adult conversation or wet days where you are stuck in all day.

Would love to hear from other SAHM's to see if you feel the same!!
Thanks

You're not alone, I often feel the same, but in a funny way I feel guilty for admitting that (dp works hard and really I just spend my days pottering about and looking after a small person...). I've worked in demanding jobs before and in many ways being at home is a lot easier, but I think it is the relentlessness of it that wears me down sometimes, and the amount of patience and self-control needed in bringing up a toddler. It takes me a lot of effort to motivate myself on days where there are no groups etc to go to, and I feel the hours stretching ahead as I get handed the same book to read for the 20th time... and adult company in the presence of a toddler is a bit different to adult company where you can really talk to someone uninterrupted!

It makes me feel better that on the rare occasions I go out alone and dp looks after dd, he says 'but what am I going to do with her for two hours?!' and then needs a good rest afterwards... Smile

diyqueen- I totally agree. Adult company with small children around is not the same as adult company without.

I felt totally vindicated the other day when my Dad took one of my DCs out for three hours and needed a sleep afterwards (my Dad, not my DC who wasn't tired at all!)

I look after two of the blighters for nearly 14 hours a day. It's no wonder I am tired!

I'm always tired. I'm sure it's my bad diet and erratic sleeping pattern that's to blame, but I know it's so much worse when I'm without company. My baby is still only 5 months so although she's learning a lot, there's still only so much I can do with her. Been raining solid the past three days, which doesn't help. I'm too tired to even write any more.
