Spider phobia affecting sleep. Help!

My DD is nearly 12, and starting high school soon. In the last few days she has developed a severe spider phobia, since she was reading in bed and a spider ran across her pillow. Since then (about 5 days) she can't sleep, keeps brushing things away from her face, arms, pillows etc, is frequently in tears and asking me to check for spiders everywhere. She hasn't spent a whole night in bed and either comes into our room or sneaks downstairs to the sofa. Even then she doesn't sleep. Now she is grumpy, a bit embarrassed, and worrying about the next night's sleep (or lack of). Any suggestions how I can nip this in the bud now?

Could always try buying her some Dethlac from amazon. It's a beastie killer, and those of us in the anti Spider quiche swear by it.
