Any experiences of moving baby from miyo baby hammock to cot?

The hammock manufacturers website says that the transition should happen naturally when babies' instinct to sleep when bounced/rocked tends to fade at around 5-6months.

LO (5months) goes in cot during day for naps, but has to be rocked by me till dozy before going into cot, then will only sleep for a max. of 45mins in cot (vs 1.5hrs in hammock).

The hammock is only good till she can sit herself up, but I don't want to get to 6months and find that DD won't sleep in the cot.

Any thoughts/experiences?

We used a Nature's Nest for both. DD moved out of it when about 5-6 months and I fed her to sleep for a bit until she got used to the cot. DS was in it for longer - until about 8 months - and that was harder because he'd got used to bouncing himself back to sleep when he woke up so he kept trying to do it in the cot. I'd agree that the transition's probably easiest around the 5-6 month mark and you may just have to live with shorter naps for a while.

Thanks Z! Am going to try again with the cot soon. She just loves the hammock! The hammock was the best & worst (in some ways) buy for my LO. Grin
