how to stop boys spraying their piss everywhere

I have 2 ds's who have almost exclusive use of the upstairs toilet. Despite it being their responsibilty to clean it regularly they continue to never lift the seat and frequently spray their piss all over the seat and floor. They are both teens and I would have expected them to have some degree of control/aim by now. Its really rank , how can I change their horrible habits ?

Oh, this one is easy! I have a DS who used to 'spray' everywhere. My friend told me to get cheerios. Leave a dish of around a dozen cheerios next to the toilet, with strict instructions not to eat them (maybe make something up?). Little boys love target practise, just get them to put one or two cheerios into the toilet bowl before peeing, and try and hit the target. Works a treat.

And when I say 'little' I mean boys of all ages! My brother says it would get him to aim properly Grin

I'm going to try the cheerios ..drives me mad..not as mad as dd who shares the loo with ds.
My fanatically clean sil makes her dh and ds sit down to wee. Have tried but 9 yr old ds says he's too old to change now Hmm

GhouliaYelps · 23/08/2012 22:43

I was going to say sit down to pee its so much better all around

hugandroll · 23/08/2012 22:45

My 4yo does this, I am fed up of sitting and standing in wee. Will try the cheerios thing.

naturalbaby · 23/08/2012 22:48

I was going to suggest 'make them sit to wee' but then read they are teens!
It's a bit late now isn't it??
I think my 3yr old and 4yr old love eating cheerios too much, fortunately they're still happy to do sitting wees!

FuckityFuckFuck · 23/08/2012 22:51

Give them anything to aim at! The little splats that stick to the bowl (toilet duck? Can't remember even though I bought some today) are good.

DS is 3 and he finds it hilarious trying to hit them Hmm

Musomathsci · 23/08/2012 22:55

You can get stickers to put in the bowl that change colour when you pee on them - sorry can't remember the name of them, but I'm sure Google would help!

FallenCaryatid · 23/08/2012 23:30

Teenagers?
They need to clean the toilet and bathroom to your satisfaction daily or lose internet access.
That's a disgusting thing to be doing and no excuses.

silverangel · 24/08/2012 14:40

Ha, my DH used to do this, particulalry if he had had a few beers. I told him I used his toothbrush to help clean it up one time (I didn't!). He's never done it since!
