I bought a fabric pen from Mothercare 3 years ago when dd1 started school - it never washed off and even stayed on the inside tongues of trainers.

I use iron on labels Have used easy2name ones and just bought some iron on ones from mynamelabel for a change. I also have a laundry marker as backup

Buy a laundry marker pen. It has been known for name labels to be unpicked and the item claimed by someone else.

Iron labels are the way forward! We have been asked not to write on existing labels as it smudges over time ad ends up illegible.

Well proper mothers use Cash's sew-in, embroidered labels.

But iron-on ones will stick perfectly well if you don't love your child that much Wink

Laundry marker or easy to name.
(Wow dear. I love my kids plenty thanks. Would rather play with them than spend hours sewing their name onto uniform!?)

I just use a permanent marker, which usually lasts, and even so often just check its still ok,which it will be :) I have done the sewing in bit and the iron on ones, which after a while do peel off, found the marker the best.
