I am starting a degree with the OU this year and I have selected 60 credits to complete this year (50% study intensity).

When I applied for my student loan I stated that the tuition fee the OU is charging me is £2500 - the charge for 60 credits. When asked the amount of the tuition fee loan I wanted, I ticked "Maximum available to you" as per the OU guidance.

So why is Student Finance paying the OU £5000 (the cost of full time study/120 credits?)

Can anyone help explain this because I'm now panicking that my loan amount is wrong and everything is shut until Monday!
