How do you keep kids calm & pleasant in evening?

Mine are bouncing up and down on the sofa cushions on the floor, screaming. Occasionally dd1 runs into the kitchen & throws something in so that dd2 crawls after it. Dp got home 10 mins ago & is sitting in the front room with a beer & the door closed.

If only they would do a quiet jigsaw or something instead of being frantic & stressful the evening would be so much easier! Argh.

CBeebies in our house until 6:30pm, then DP does bathtime. DS has been bonkers all day so will be handing him over in 9 minutes

DH takes over the children as soon as he gets home while I cook.

I agree with Jareth!
