Benefit questions for full time student...

Hi,
I'm hopefully going to be starting a full time degree, providing I get funded. I have some questions though. I don't currently work, but I am looking and applying. What benefits will I be entitled to as a full time student? None of the online calculators are very helpful.
TIA

Do you have any children?

Oh yes, silly me, I have one DD aged two.

Hi you will be able to claim child tax credits and housing benefit. As a student you are exempt from council tax, you need to send in a certificate from Uni. If you have a DP/H then they would still have to pay. Check with your local authority.

How much CTC and HB depends on your total household income. I send in my paperwork from student finance each September to housing benefit as proof and they work it out.

Sorry just saw you are a LP. I am too and get a generous amount of housing benefit each month plus child tax credits. They don't count a lot of the student finance so it really helps.
