Feel like I'm not dealing very well with this stage. I know it's her hormones as she has just started to develop breasts buds. One minute it's "your the best mummy in the world" and she clings to me so much it smothers me then she'll stub her toe on something and the mood change is so dramatic and horrible. She seems to now prefer just sitting about than be out playing with her pals.
At one point over the holidays her behaviour was so bad I threatened her with no birthday party. She seemed to cheer up, went off to buy postcards, wrote them all to her pals and was just about to pop them in the letterbox when I asked what she'd said. She went all coy and said it was a secret. I knew she was up to something so asked her to show me and she'd written to her pals to tell her the party was cancelled. Talk about cutting her nose off to spite her face!!!
I just want her to cheer up. I'm trying so hard to be nice to her and understanding but then she just pushes me too far and she has to go to her room or go without something - doesn't seem to change her and her apologies are always forced. Sigh!
