I started my NVQ level 3 in business admin in April! I basically havnt done anything! I keep putting it off and now I feel panicked because I have to see my assessor on Thursday and I already canceled her last week!

Should I just quit? If I do I will feel shit! The reason I want to do it is so I can eventually teach but if I won't do the work how can I teach it?

Have you thought of talking to your assessor tomorrow? They must often deal with this and may well have some tips to help you get started again.

It IS hard studying with LO's. Be honest with your assessor. They will want you to succeed too.

For me it was about having a set time when I worked - once they were all tucked up in bed in my case - and a minimum amount I had to do every night.

Why do you keep putting the work off? You need to sit down and work out how you're going to fit in your work around other family commitments, e.g. your mum has the kids on a Thursday afternoon so you can work then or you drive out after the kids are in bed to work for an hour, even if you have to sit in McDonalds / a cafe / the local library to do it. Local university libraries often allow membership to members of the public for a small fee. It would give you study space away from the family. If you can develop a plan of how you are going to work then take that along to your tutor so she can see that you've thought about it and want to commit to this and work.

If you don't have the level of commitment to make these sort of plans and stick to them, then maybe this isn't the course or the time for you now and it would be better to quit and start again later. Be warned though, if you've started the course once, you wouldn't get any sort of subsidised fees for a 2nd attempt at the same thing.

I have tried talking to my assessor before but I find her very scatty! She's just like just do it! I told her before I was having problems getting on with it, all she advise was to go to the library!

I am a single parent so cannot leave gone once dd is in bed! But I have just changed jobs as I want to concentrate on my course, so in sept will have 2 full days per week free while dd is at school! So I was hoping to start the gym and other than that will have all those hours to study!

The other problem is Nvqs are work based learning and i started it at my dads company but left there due to him taking up all my time and I felt I didn't have head space to concentrate on my course! Sp I'm not actually in a admin position right joe and I am having to make up evidence for my portfolio which makes it hard. As if I was in a admin position then I could just select parts of my work to use as evidence Confused

And I hate cancelling my Assesssor as I've cancelled her so many times and I know she will b like just get a move on!!

Well I didn't quit, I gathered lots of evidence and had my meeting with my assessor today and it all went well Grin

She told me to stop panicking and I will be fine! Now I'm revved up and ready to work Wink
