my DS is 14 weeks old. We had 2 names in mind and chose the one that my husband was keen on. but now I am thinking to chsnge his name although my husband is not very keen. I just feel mord flutter when I call him the name I like. I know that by law I can change babys name within a year. If I do it...will my son later in life say that his oarents were changing minx/ inconsistent with yheir decision etc?

14 weeks is quite late imo...why don't you like the name?

My parents changed my name when I was 6 months old, as they kept hearing the original name everywhere. I always thought it was a novelty having two birth certificates. But I couldn't imagine changing my kids' names 6 months down the line. 14 weeks isn't so bad. Change it if you're unhappy.

I was always fascinated as a child to hear the name I would have been if I was a boy, and my parents' second choice girls' name. I certainly don't think it will mess your DC up when he's older; if anything, it'll be a good story to tell!

If you cange it how will your DH feel? Unless you really dislike the name I wouldn't change it now.
