Trying to get a level 2 Maths qualification

Hi. I am looking for mutual support with others who are doing this Maths course. I started it in November last year, and have found it hard to keep going. It shouldn't be so hard, but I do find learning the methods a challenge.

Anybody else?

Hi angel,
Thanks for your reply, I'm not sure which one you mean, I have not heard of them referred to in that way before. It's the multiple choice test they've put me in for. It is quite hard. I have my next appointment next week, and need to get some division done by then, but I have already forgotten how to do it.

Are you doing yours at a college? Mine is at the council.

All the best

Is level 2 GCSE equivalent? I started doing that via learn direct but their tutors are crap!

twonker · 14/08/2012 22:15

nice up the dance hi, yes I think it is gcse equivalent. I'm sorry to hear your learn direct tutor was crap. My tutor at the council is great, I leave the office feeling confident and knowing I can do it. The trouble comes later on when I come to do the homework, and I have forgotten!

Have you had a look at www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/maths/

Good luck with your study.

Smiles, thanks for the link, I will have a look at it for my next homework session. A friend came over yesterday who is a primary teacher and she showed me "chunking" for division! What a revelation!
