Hi, I'm due to have baby number 2 in a weeks time, and was planning on using my sons cabriofix car chair for this baby too.

The thing is i have misplaced the head hugger/support thingy lol

Does anyone know if it is definately necessary to have it for a newborn?? obviously i would like you to be honest as i could buy one online and hope it comes in time for baby! lol

Thanks

I don't know the official answer, best to speak to the manufacturer but I know neck and head support is crucial for newborns and the headhuggers will ensure this especially over bumpy roads and stops the head lolling forward when they sleep. Better to be cautious and safe with newborns!

I reckon you do need one, I've seen 'universal' ones in mothercare and other places that may be suitable (assuming you feel up to going shopping of course!!)

yes you do need one but any one will do so long as it has slits in for the straps.

I hardly used it with ds as I had a car seat footmuff which really padded it out so there wasn't really room for the head/back support.

He was also a heavy and long baby and the positioning of the back support wedge just didn't seem comfy for him.

I did use it with dd though as she was smaller and I didn't use the footmuff.
