Weight gain?

Ok so my DD got weighed last Tuesday and was following her line. I weighed her at a meet today and she is less than she should be. I think she should be just over 11lb2 but she is only 10lb12. Do you think it matters or should I speak to HV? She is 10 weeks next Sunday. She has been eating fine, a little bit more fussy than usual but I put that down to the heat. She is EBF as well if that makes a difference. Am I worrying over nothing.

Did you weigh her yourself, or did a professional do it? The difference between 11lb2 and 10lb12 is really very small.

I'd guess you're worrying over nothing if she's happy, feeding well, doing wet and dirty nappies and alert.

My DS was always on the 99th percentile, despite being EBF, he was just a big lump of a child :) I used to worry he was too heavy. He's 2.5 years old now and I really don't fret like I used to.

Did it myself using the baby scales at this class. Think I am worrying over nothing. Just never had her drop from her line before.

I'd say to try to not worry about it, and see how she is next time you're there.

When I had DS I used to get him weighed every week at the breastfeeding support group as I just assumed that was the thing that everyone did. In hindsight I think I was just nervous and looking reassurance that he was 'normal'.

You're doing a great job EBF, I remember those days well :)

Hi Weezie try not to worry. Although I can talk! My dd was on the 50th centile when she was born but lost 11percent and we had to stay I'm hospital another three days and she had to have a feeding tube overnight. So that made me paranoid about her weight for quite a while. Shes been on or around the 25 centile since and is fine. As long as your dd is feeding well and has wet and pooey nappies she is fine. Another thing is different scales can weigh slightly differently and 3 oz could also be she hadn't fed recently or done a pooey nappy before the weigh in. I found the best thing is only to weigh dd at most once a month. If your dd is feeding well and obviously growing and developing she's fine. But I know exactly where you are coming from.
