Since having ds 10 days ago I feel so irritable all the time with 3 year-old DD. Did anybody else feel this way and what did you do about it? I worry about the effect on our relationship. I feel like I am speaking to her through clenched teeth a lot of the time Sad

Oh I'm just the same. DS is 4 weeks now. I think it's getting a bit better. I was so worried about me not bonding with the baby that I developed antenatal depression. Now he's here, I feel I've lost my relationship with DD. She's very accepting of him and seems to understand that he needs me. I feel like she's detached herself a lot.

And she seems so big and clumsy. I feel terrible telling her all the time not to jump/ bounce etc near him. It's not constant really and I'm trying to be positive. But know just how you feel. There aren't enough lovely positive moments right now. DD is 3 this month.

We had a bath together last night which we don't normally do really. She loved it and it was very bonding. I think I'll try it more often. She talked about it this morning and how nice it was.
