What would you recommend? Ive been using a single layer fleece one doubled over but ds2's skin is still quite wet and is starting to get a rash.

Do you mean a liner or a booster? Fleece won't act as a booster, but is a good stay dry liner layer. If you double it, though, apparently it repels liquid which would explain why your LO felt wet. I use Little Lambs bamboo boosters in my Bamboozle stretchies (use them at night) and find it works really well.

Hello! Yeah something absorbent so his skin is dry. Smile

They're kind of different things. A booster will add absorbancy, so effectively the nappy will last longer before needing changed. My Bamboozle Stretchies came with a snap in bamboo booster but I also add a Little Lambs bamboo booster as I use them for overnight.

But even boosted loads, the surface will still feel wet it at least damp - a fleece liner acts as a stay dry layer as it allows liquid to pass through it, but it doesn't absorb liquid itself. If doubled up, though (eg if folded), it will repel liquid rather than allow it through, which is probably why your LO felt wet.

So I use (from outside layer in to later against baby's bum): wrap, Bamboozle stretchy, Little Lambs bamboo booster, Bamboozle bamboo booster snapped I. To nappy, fleece liner(unfolded). Hope that helps!

Lol, I'm pretty new to this myself! Having spent HOURS, nay days, on various cloth nappy discussion websites, I do a cold express wash (cold because if you do it warm it can set the stains, and I can't seem to set the temp of the rinse bit of the main wash), then a hygiene cycle and then an extra rinse. I dry pail rather than soak and I don't do anything with pooey nappies other than shove them in the machine, but DD2 is still EBF so they're not exactly caked in solid turds. I use non-bio liquid because she has eczema and I found that was the best for DD1 and DH, who also have eczema. And I just use a wee bit of liquid. No additives other than there is often a liner shoved in the bucket/wet bag with a few drops of lavender oil on it.

Oh, and I dry outside when I can, to get sunlight on them for stain removal. Smile

Ha ha i made the mistake of just washing them in napisan yesterday and there were suds all over the floor. Didnt rinse them first so after all that i put them in the drier and they stank of poops (10m and had been eating allsorts) so had to wash them again.

Ill get them out the drier in a bit and have a see.

Got some bamboo inserts and the cotton/fleece boosters off Ebay last night too. He hasn't leaked and its been on since 7pm ish and hes in a lovely mood today. Not. Hmm

The box i got out for the baby wipes now has scones in so they'll have to wait!
